Unity and Liberty Through Christ
Although many Christians seem to be uneasy about it, stressing that believers keep unity over our many doctrinal distinctive is an essential component of what it means to be Christian. A genuine Christian community cannot exist without these foundational tenets of biblical fellowship in worshiping God, doing God's work, and doing God's will with others (Gal. 1:6-10). Philip Melanchthon urged Christians to grant one another a range of freedoms in these areas. Believers ought to be humble and forgiving toward people holding various opinions depending on the clarity of scripture teaching on each specific subject.
